Coro Drive Major Changes

From 1 November 2009 

Major traffic changes are now in place on Coronation Drive – between Cribb Street and Merivale Rail Bridge – until the Christmas/ New Year period.

Construction works temporarily change how motorists access the northern suburbs via the Boomerang Street overpass and the western suburbs via Coronation Drive.

Traffic changes are:

• Outbound – Coronation Drive: traffic travelling through to Coronation Drive (toward Toowong) from Riverside Expressway now use lanes on the right-hand or northern side of the Boomerang Street Overpass. Lanes previously used will be CLOSED for overpass construction.  
• Outbound – Boomerang Street overpass: traffic taking the Boomerang Street (northern suburbs) overpass from Riverside Expressway towards ICB, now need to be in the left-hand or riverside lane to access the overpass.  
• Inbound – Coronation Drive: traffic is reduced to two lanes between Cribb Street and the Merivale Rail Bridge.

These major changes, in the area of the Go Between Bridge (formerly Hale Street Link), are essential to complete construction of the Coronation Drive overpass.

Once complete, the overpass will provide unobstructed travel from Riverside Expressway (CBD) to Coronation Drive, bypassing the Coronation Drive/Hale Street traffic light intersection.
