South Brisbane Traffic Changes

29 JUNE 2009
From Monday 29 June 2009 asphalt placement will occur in the areas of Montague Road, Cordelia and Merivale streets, South Brisbane as part of the Hale Street Link project.
Works will occur during day and night shifts progressively in stages from Monday 29 June until mid-July 2009.
Changed traffic conditions will be in place throughout the area.
Stages 1, 2 and 3 will be located on Montague Road – traffic flow will be maintained via a diversion around the worksite.
Full weekend intersection closures will occur on:
- 4 - 5 July - Cordelia Street/Montague Road intersection closed
- 11 - 12 July - Merivale Street/Montague Road intersection closed
- 18 - 19 July - Merivale Street/Montague Road intersection closed
Detours will be in place via Mollison Street, Boundary Street, Peel Street and Hope Street.

ATTENTION SOUTH BRISBANE MOTORISTS
From Monday 4 May 2009 traffic changes will be occurring around the areas of Merivale, Peel and Cordelia streets and Montague Road.
Please take care and watch for directional signage. These changes are required for optimal traffic network performance once Hale Street Link is complete in mid 2010 and have been put in place now to allow motorists time to adapt.
- Merivale Street becomes ONE WAY southbound from Montague Road (towards Vulture Street).
- Peel Street becomes TWO WAY between Cordelia Street and Merivale Street.
- No right turn or left turn from Peel Street to Merivale Street (towards Montague Road). Motorists travelling from Grey Street (William Jolly Bridge) can proceed up to Cordelia Street.
- Motorists traveling from Grey Street (William Jolly Bridge) along Peel Street can access Montague Road via a new dedicated right turn into Cordelia Street.
- No right turn from Peel Street to Merivale Street (towards Vulture Street).
- Temporary no left turn from Cordelia Street to Peel Street - motorists can access Peel Street by continuing down Cordelia Street, then left into Boundary Street.
- Alternative route to Montague Road use left turn off William Jolly Bridge.
