Milton Traffic Changes

Hale Street (Inner City Bypass) to Coronation Drive                                   NRT

Both right turn lanes from Hale Street to Coronation Drive (towards Toowong) have now been closed until completion of Hale Street Link in mid 2010.

Traffic currently using Hale Street and the right turn to Coronation Drive should seek alternative routes during this closure period.

Please note the closure of the right hand turn does NOT change:

 - Traffic using Coronation Drive inbound and outbound

 - Traffic using Boomerang Street overpass towards Kelvin Grove

 - Traffic using the left turning lane from Coronation Drive into Hale Street (Inner City Bypass)

 - Traffic turning left from Hale Street (Inner City Bypass) toward the City

 - Access to Park Road

Brisbane City Council has put plans in place to reduce impacts including:

  • Increased green light time will be provided for the Caxton and Milton Road off-ramps from Hale Street (ICB). These off ramps provide access back to Coronation Drive see map
  • A peak right hand turn ban from Milton Road to Cribb Street will allow motorists using alternative exits from the ICB better access back to Coronation Drive via a left turn to Cribb Street
  • New right turn lane has been provided from Castlemaine Street into Milton Road
  • New right turn lane from Cribb Street into Coronation Drive
  • Peak hours right hand turn ban from Caxton Street to Dowse Street improving flows on Caxton Street.

Upon completion and opening of the Hale Street Link project one right turn lane from Hale Street to Coronation Drive will be reinstated.

Thank you for your patience during this time.
